The HealthyRoast® Process
Asantae Java™ is made using a triple-patented, 100% natural HealthyRoast® process that preserves the antioxidant value of coffee beans during the roasting process. The result is the most powerful and delicious antioxidant coffee on the planet!
We start by carefully selecting specialty grade Arabica beans and soak them to transfer all of the water soluble antioxidants into concentrated and purified antioxidant water. The beans are evaluated for their “sweet spot” and are roasted to specific parameters to bring out the full flavor profile of the coffee. Prior to cooling, the roasted beans are quenched with the purified antioxidant water to ensure proper penetration back into the bean cell wall. Nothing is added to the coffee, taken away from the coffee or changed in the flavor profile. The HealthyRoast process simply delivers a wonderful great tasting cup of coffee with all of the natural antioxidants found in the original green bean.
In addition to the HealthyRoast® process, we utilize special packaging to retain the antioxidant value, quality and freshness of Asanate Java™. All antioxidants have the potential to degrade over time if exposed to oxygen, which is what makes them so functional in our bodies. Asantae Java utilizes a high-quality, one-way degassing valve and a world-class liner on each and every bag of coffee to ensure efficient flow of gas out of the bag while ensuring no oxygen permeation into the bag. Antioxidant Strength
Antioxidants have become the “buzz” in the food and dietary supplement industries making all of us more aware of what they do for our body and why we would want to include more in our diet. Considering that 3 out of every 4 Americans drink coffee daily and it’s their top dietary source for antioxidants, just how much antioxidant strength is your java delivering?
Using the revolutionary HealthyRoast® process developed by food scientists, Asantae has harnessed the antioxidant power of coffee. An independent test proves that Asantae Java delivers up to six times the antioxidants in each and every cup over other premium brands.
ORAC (oxygen radical absorbing capacity) is a popular method to measure antioxidants in food and beverages, but it doesn’t indicate if the antioxidants are absorbed, metabolized or actually do any good in the body. Chlorogenic acid (CGA) is the major antioxidant found in coffee beans. It’s proven to be highly absorbable, easily metabolized and is a powerful and valid method of demonstrating a cup of coffee’s relative health value. An independent study tested the antioxidant level of Asantae Java in comparison to popular retail and premium coffee brands. The study measured the CGA level and the total polyphenol level of the coffees. The CGA measurement was done by a technique called high performance liquid chromatography and was conducted by a third-party independent laboratory. Results concluded that Asantae Java has 6x the antioxidant strength of other coffees.
From Soil to Sip
The production of coffee is a remarkable process, but for Asantae Java™ it’s more of an art form. We pay close attention to every detail of our coffee starting with its growth from the soil to the moment you take your first sip.

The land on which beans are grown is extremely critical to the quality of the coffee that can be produced. Most of our coffee is produced in Central America on land that is rich in minerals and nutrients. The coffee trees are shaded to ensure they receive just the right amount of sun and are planted at higher altitudes with less oxygen so that they have the just the right amount of time to mature and develop a rich, robust, yet delicate flavor. The coffee tree takes at least three years to bear fruit and then may stay productive from 10 to 25 years.
The stems of the coffee trees are lined with small cherries that are made up of two coffee beans. The cherries are picked at ideal ripeness. The harvesting season lasts about four months and is extremely labor intensive because to achieve quality coffee, the cherries must be picked at their optimum ripeness. If the bean is picked too early or too late, you can get a bitter or sour taste.
Within hours of picking, the cherries are de-pulped, fermented to remove the fruit film and washed using fresh purified water to ensure efficient and optimum cleaning and hull removal . The cleaned hulled beans are sundried on large open sundecks to enhance their antioxidant activity and ensure a dry moisture free bean for roasting. The beans are then extracted from the cherry. Only the finest quality 100% Arabica beans make our cut.
Our exclusive roasting process is 100% natural, meaning we don’t use any chemicals of any kind to preserve the antioxidants. With each and every annual harvest our beans are evaluated for their “sweet spot” the roasting parameters that bring out the true characters of that specific bean type which provides us the ideal roasting conditions to produce the most colorful, flavorful coffee you can imagine. Our HealthyRoast® process captures all of the antioxidants in the raw bean prior to roasting, which allows for optimum roast conditions to bring out the full flavor profile of the bean, and then carefully immerses the antioxidants back into the bean prior to cooling and packaging.
Samples of the beans are examined, roasted, ground, brewed and tasted by experts to certify their quality. The beans are roasted to our unique blend specifications using our proprietary process. Our roasting professionals “cup” or analyze our coffee for aromas, texture, sweetness, acidity and flavor to ensure it meets our high standards. What are antioxidants and why are they important?
Free radicals are naturally released in our bodies when our cells use oxygen but can easily become damaged. What type of roast is Asantae Java™?
Asantae Java is available in three different roasts, all of which are considered medium. The flavor varies in each of our roasts. Breakfast Blend is a smooth, full-bodied medium coffee roast. Breakfast Blend is our strongest antioxidant coffee, but is well-balanced with a delightful aroma and finish. Signature is a bold flavor for those palates that like some real stimulation with none of the bitterness sometimes associated with big flavors. Decaf is the full flavor of our Signature roast but without all of the caffeine. We also offer our Breakfast Blend in a whole bean so you can grind your own fresh coffee anytime.
How is Asantae Java™ Decaf made?
Asantae Java™ Decaf is prepared using a water process that less than 2% of decaf roasters use. This unique process is 100% natural and free of any chemicals.
Is coffee actually good for me?
Studies continue to show the health benefits associated with coffee due to its natural antioxidant and caffeine ingredients. Studies have suggested that coffee drinkers may have a lower the risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, inflammatory diseases, stroke and Alzheimer’s. Coffee is also known to contain tryptophan, a chemical converted by the body into a brain chemical called serotonin that helps regulate sleep, appetite, mood and inhibits pain.
